new to the forum, and new to the world of home recording.

let me get this straight : i am a big geddy lee fan (bass player and signer of rush) - what i am basically trying to do is to reproduce his sound. (i know it's impossible - but at least i have some "fun" trying to).

I have a friend that is just getting started with a home studio. He plays pedal steel guitar and wants to be able to add tracks to other musicians songs and send them the track back to be mixed at their studio. He currently has a Mac and ipad and is computer savvy but does not want the recording equipment to be his focus.

Hey guys, I have been planning of starting a one man band sort of project (all done virtually) and i need help in finding a cheap but good software that might aid me in doing so. I play guitar, so i could get a cable and somehow play through the cpu and record like that but i have no idea where to start and it seems confusing to me and all right now.

I am looking for some tips to setting up my small studio in my basement. This is what I have, Crate Pro Audio 82t PA, and a Tascam DP-03 portastudio. My question is: Do I, or should I, run the crate in front of the Tascam. if so, what is the best way to do it.? Or do i just plug into the Tascam and skip the PA. Thank you for your time.:cool:

Previously I was an Avid user of Garage Band when I had a Mac, but when my old Powerbook Ti finally became fully obsolete I didn't have the money for another Mac. I ended up with a Lenovo (Idea Pad, I think) laptop and so I'm now using Windows 7.
