That Grace is a REALLY transparent pre... what is comparable to it (price and QUALITY) that is a warmer preamp?

I was just wondering what's thought of the Grace Lunatec V3. Any reviews I've come across ahave been great, but I don't know anything about the quality of hte converters.

I'm looking for a good clean stereo pre, ( mostly for drums, piano ...) under 2000$ and I was thinking of one either of these: Grace 201 and Focusrite Red 8
Has anyone used these and what do you think ?

I would really appreciate some suggestions or opinions regarding preamps (and good mics to match with) mentioned above.

I have gotten a lot of info about mic preamps from this forum, all very usefull thank you. I have to ask this though, I am in the market for a good pre. Right now I am only set up for 1 maybe 2 vocalists. I have been studying the Grace 101 and am currious if anyone has heard it, used it, knows anything about it.

Looks like the GRACE 201 PRE is my choice for my ROYER SF12.Anyone use this combo.Thanks in advance.Also if anyone has used the Royer sf 12 with another pre please opine.

Im thinkin bout gettin one of these pres.I would like to try them out first so does anyone know of a place with a good return policy that carries these 3?Pluse any thoughts on them?

Looking for a very detailed mic preamp to go with the more colored units I have, Neve, 737, 610 on order. Anyone compared or have experience with the M5, 2022, Grace, or Earthworks pre's.

hey - have only heard these once, on after the fact recordings - no experiece tracking with.

in what family of color would one place these with, clear/transparent - round - or colored?

am looking at picking up a 101 as another flavor

What do all you pro's think of this preamp? I plan on purchasing a pre for my Blue Dragonfly, and I want to spend between 500 and a grand. If you can suggest other's, please do!
