How to mix fat rhythm guitars
Hello there, I have a question. I heard people saying about doubling rhythm guitars for the left side then for the right side so you can have some heavy/fat guitars... how do you pan those? Hard left and hard right or hard left/45 left and hard right/45 right? Thanks!

Studio Acoustic Guitars?
I'm tired of recording crappy acoustics and have decided to take the plunge and get a decent guitar for the studio. I've been impressed with Collings C10 deluxe and Dreadnoughts (thanks Ted!) Santa Cruz D/PW, and Huss and Dalton MJC.

Bass Guitar pickup, DI-Mic Pre combo
What is your favorite combination of Bass Guitar pickups and Direct Injection/Mic Pre for the classic rock sound?
Do you like aftermarket pickups or are the American Fender pickups the ticket? You may throw in your advice for compressor, but you'll probably just say 1176.

Putting the "Magic" into Guitar Tracks?
So, many of you gave me great advice on how to capture some great drum tracks with a great drummer.
Now, I've got a solid, groovin' rhythm section, but my guitar tracks lack that "magic" that makes them sound larger than life. There's no sparke; there's no love.
I'm tracking through a fender strat (I've used this same guitar for thirteen years and it's a great guitar)

Here is my problem - I have a singer/guitarist that only sings well when he plays the guitar at the same time. I would like 2 separate recordings with minimal bleed. How do I do this?
Where the bass and guitars meet
Hi!
I brought up a question in the mastering section about the balance of frequency where the guitars and the bass overlap and someone thought I should bring it over here(what was I thinking?)It was posted for a particular song I was working on and since then I have come up with some good recipe.
