Best way to split guitar signal
I am looking to split the signal coming direct from electic guitar where one signal is going straight to tape/HD and the other is going to a POD then to tape/HD. Will the standard A/B - A&B box do the job? I am concerned with signal loss.

Guitar Tracks 1.02 Help!
My setup: Guitar Tracks 1.02 on Win XP
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum Ex
My problem: I have tracks of drums and bass
that I dragged in from a sample CD. When
I go to record my guitar with simultaneous
record/playback, the new track contains
the guitar plus the drum and bass tracks!
Am I doing something wrong?

Guitar sound
Hi guys!
I guess this isn't the first time anyone asks this question. What shall I do about my recorded guitar sound, it really sucks. I playing through a custom built tube amp and 4x12

Recording Heavy Guitars
Any suggestions on getting a super tight, heavy guitar sound (ie new deftones, tool, chevelle, etc.)? I have a semipro recording studio so I don't, by far, have all the best gear, but I'm sure it can make the guitars sound pretty good with what I have if I knew what I was doing. My problem has always been too much "shhhhh" and not enough balls/warmth/punch.

Clean electric guitar micing
I have a Korg D12, and can get some nice clean almost acoustic sounds when going direct, but would liek to be able to get the sound I hear when I play through my amp. I use a single 15" sealed cab for my guitar. I really like the sound I hear when seated not far from my amp. What type of mic would be best for placing where my ears would normally be? I currently only have an SM-57.

Lots of newb guitar recording questions
I've been recording guitars using the following setup -
surf guitar -> bug muff -> Behringer eurorack mx802a -> pc (Samplitude)
Somehow it doesn't sound quite as natural as I'd like it to. I've got a solid-state Peavey ~80W amp and a smaller Marshall 9v practice (toy) 'amp'.
