ADAT to Hard Disk Transfer - Hardware/Software Question(s)
Okay, where do I start?
I have a large amout of my original material recorded on tape with my ADAT LX-20 and I want to transfer it to hard disk - all 8 tracks. Once I get it on hard disk I want to master it cut a CD.
Hardware samplers
Im trying to understand samplers a little better and i was wondering if they can be used to extract sounds of pianos or horns or whatever from the drum beat so that i can then use and alter the horns as an idevidual sound loops in another song I'm creating,
thanks

Hardware compatibility with PRO TOOLS
Hi I'm going into music production and my school uses Pro Tools and i want to get pro tools to use on my own computer. Do you have to use digidesigns hardware to work with Pro Tools? I have one of the new Alesis Multimix firewire mixers that i love, is that compatible with Pro Tools? So basically can i just buy the software and use it with what i have already? or do I have to buy the m-box?

Hardware connections. .
I need some help with hardware connections with my 002R. The reference manual was kind of vague. I'm looking to hook up an RNC to the 002R. I'm guessing I would use the in's and out's of channels 5-8. What I'm really not sure of is in and out assignments both on the mixer view and the I/O dialog box. I was thinking I could do an inline type of thing but the FMR only has 1/4" jacks.

So excited (new hardware)...
I'm so tweaked!
I just won a Manley Vari-Mu on Ebay for a song!
I'm so excited I think I just wet myself a little... ;-)
I got it from a mastering house in LA (not sure which one, but they were also selling a Weiss mastering desk so I'm sure they are legit...)
Just thought I'd share. (y)

Hey All,
I wonder if anyone could help me? I want to get a drum machine, I want to use it to make simple riffs and stuff, but I want the sounds to be editable. If not, I want a machine with LOADS of samples... I dont want to spend more than £70-£80 on ebay or somewhere...

Backline Micing Hardware
I'm am looking for a link or name of a manufacturer that manufactures a mic holder/stand that can slide between the bottom of an amp and the amp's road case in which it sits. I would be using either SM57 or MD 409 mics with them. I've seen some of these used previously and they are great. If the amp moves the mic stays put and moves with it.

plugin or hardware dynamics
just wondering what the peeps are using a lot of these days.
I know there old, but i just can't seem to get enough of the Focusrite 6 band EQ, and I almost always start compressing with the fairchild 660.
for limiting, i like the plain jane digirack limiter II.
has anyone used the new III series?
oh yeah, as if i need to say it I'm using Pro Tools.
