Jazz Bass pickup hum
My recording engineer wants me to up-grade my single coil pickups on my Fender Jazz Bass to eliminate the hum.
In reserching the problem, I've found that these two stock single coil pickups should cancel the hum themselves by design.
How do I check the polarity of these pickups to see if they are installed correctly?
Are there any other tips for eliminating the hum?

Recently I purchased a used Grace 101 mic preamp and it is acting strange.
Basically, when I power it on (nothing plugged into it line or mic) the LED
slowly changes from green to red. When I plugged it into my mixer the

tailor 610 balanced, still have a hum
I have a problem with a hum in my guitar wile recording through the pre-sonus firepod. I have the Taylor expression system (my guitar signal is balanced)but the firepod's power adapter does not have a ground pin. If I touch the firepod with my skin the hum goes away so think this is a ground problem with the fire-pod.

Annoying Hum
In my recording (DAW - Adobe Audition 2.0) I am using an Alesis Fusion 6 HD synthesizer going into a Phonic 12 Firewire Mixer, and then into my computer with a firewire cable. (Windows XP). The problem I am experiencing is an audible hum whenever I hook up the Fusion to the mixer. I get it on every channel.

Humming bass pickup
hello
i have a harley-benton hbb500tbk electric bass. it's a cheap one, but it's active and ok for me. the problem is that the one pickup makes a humming noise (like some ground problem), which makes it kinda unusable. i can use the other one, which doesn't make any noise (at least no unwanted) but i like the sound of the other one better (except for the humming of course).

8kHz Hum on DI?
I am having a bit of an issue with hum at 8kHz, but only on DI'd instruments... everything else is fine.
I've tried trouble shooting the usual hum causes but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what would cause hum at about 8kHz?
Thanks!
