Stereo Imaging a Jazz Ensemble
It's been a unusually diverse month. In the past few weeks I've provided PA for a good up-and-coming Christian pop/rock band from down NC way, a rapper, a motivational speaker, and a classic rock band. In addition to remote recordings for a blues/rock band, we had another first of recording Broadway style vocal numbers (solos and duets) with piano accompaniment.

Hey guys,
I'm new to the forum, and I predominantly record rock/metal bands but I've recently asked by an acquaintance to record is his jazz group (Instrumentation: drums, bass, piano, tenor sax).
I'm running PT 8, using an 8-pre interface and have pretty good mics, but i've been using a lot of drum replacement software thats been getting me good results

Help with Jazz Big Band Recording
Hi all,
I know there have been a couple of big band threads in the past and I have scoured them for details. I was hoping some of you might be able to jump in and help me out with a big band jazz recording I've got coming up. Recording Jazz trio
Hi everyone!
I'm a professional jazz piano player, I'm from Italy and my english is not so good, so excuse me in advanced.
My goal is this: recording professionally a jazz trio (piano, double bass, drums) in my room with only two microphones.
I know it could sound absurd, but:
-I put some Vicoustic panels on the walls.

Micing Saxophone for Ska/Jazz/Reggae
I recently had a ska-blend band in to do rhythm tracking, and will be overdubbing horns next week.
For the 'bone, I'm pretty much settled on using my Fathead.
The other horn is a sax... which has been a bit of a bugaboo for me.
I'll begin by echoing some thoughts I found while searching this subject.

Jazz Recording Session
Hello, my knowing and experienced friends.
Im currently expecting a record session with a local Jazz band and I am now asking for your tips and suggestions.
The band plays somewhat of a traditional jazz with some fusion elements and contains following instruments:

Setting compressors for jazz vocals
Once a week I do the live sound for a jazz cabaret. I previously did not have access to any compressors, and it has been a tad bit of a headache dealing with dymanics between the four singers.
