My goal is to make "decent" quality recordings at live performances in bars and other similarly sized venues. I have looked at hand held recording units and would like to know if they would give me a recording that was of comparable quality. I have been looking at products like the Sony PCM-D50 Portable Linear PCM Digital Recorder. Any advice or suggestions?

I just finished installing Abelton live 8.

I opened it, let it load all it's sounds, etc, and do it's thing. When it was finished, I did it's sound setup, and tested it as everything was 100% fine.

I now began to play with the samples, and they load, it shows them playing but I have NO SOUND!

hey guys, I have been a solo artist for a long time, and have been overdubbing and tracking everything myself for a long time.

I have been extremely interested recently in going into the studio and recording live with a support band. I write a lot of the stuff, and would pretty much be with people understanding they are helping my goal, or more of a sideproject from their bands.

i want to setup a rack to be used for live shows but also have things i need for recording. anyone have any tips for what should be in the rack?

Looking for a Dual Effects Processor so...for LIVE purpose...Delay+Reverb.

May i know is that any posibility to individual control the parameter of each Delay and Reverb? or it's only ONE parameter for the effect call Delay+Reverb?

I'm now using Yamaha EMX5000 with Dual Effects...I like it so much. But seems the new latest model dosn't provide the quality of the effects as pretty as the older version...Looking for an Extra mixer,means i wish to grab a more piece for Live purpose...need your suggestion..

Just wondering what you guys prefer, or what is the deciding factor for a specific application.

I will be regularly recording a panel discussion of 4 to 6 people (TV news panel style, but audio only). It will be a discussion / study group.

The people discussing will probably all have laptops that they are actively using, and some will have books / papers / notebooks etc actively being consulted, etc.
