Live recording

I`m recording live from a club next week. Medium sized venue. I`ve been thinking a lot back and forth on how to do this and I need some advice/input.

The band consists of drums, bass, 2 electric guitars, acoustic guitar + 5 voices.

I have an Aurora 16. So I only have 16 channels available.

Recording individual inputs for a live performance?

Hello recording.org community. This is my first post. I bought a powered mixer and speakers earlier in the year, and am hoping to run sound for local bands in Athens GA. I'm not very confident with my ability to mix the sound right, but I figure that will come with some practice, and am making arrangements to get some test runs in.

Live Mic Talk

Ok, so as you may know, I run live sound for bands. I only have SM58's, and a Beta 58a. I like the Shure's a lot for the fact that they can take a beating, and since I let many, random people use the mics, this is important. I find that often times, on a male, the SM58 is easily lost in the mix.

StudioLive vs. 01v96

Hi, not sure if this has been covered directly, please lead me to a discussion if that's the case. I'm interested in putting a small project studio together. I'm thinking I can get a board such as the StudioLiveso I don't have to worry about buying separate pre's, etc. I also want to be able to use this board for a band I'm in.
