m-audio solo ... no left channel? help!

I just recently purchased the m-audio solo. I was previously using an m-audio audio buddy as a preamp which then ran into the line-in on my soundblaster audigy 2. Wanting to record through something other than the soundcard, I upgraded to a standalone interface. however, now when I record, no matter what program I choose, I am only recording the left channel.

M-Audio MicroTrack 24/96 vs. . Edirol R-09

I need to buy a portable recorder (portable = "will fit in my hand"), and the best two that I've come up with so far are the MicroTrack 24/96 and the Edirol R-09. Functionally speaking, they look pretty similar. Does anyone have any experience with either one of these recorders? Or does anyone have an alternate suggestion?

Thanks.

home recording with m-audio 1814

Hi there:

I am new to this discussion group. I am also new to this concept of "home recording"...

I recently bought m-audio 1814 firewire audio interface with the idea in mind of recording my electric guitar, singing over it, adding some drums and bass...etc. and basically developing and playing with some ideas.

Ableton live lite version was complementary to m-audio.
