help with Mac powerbook (open transport missing)
I'm attempting to set up an Internet connection on a 5300 Powerbook, running OS8
I'm informed by the Internet Connection Helper that OpenTransport can not be found and that I need to install it..
I have hooked up an External CDRdrive to load from, via SCSI.
I have the Mac OS 8 on CDRom
(Open Transport should be on this disc?)
Mac OS upgrades and errors
A couple of days ago, I decided to do a clean-up on my Mac. My hard storage consists of six 10Gb partitions. With a little thought, I decided I'd do it this way ...

Firewire/USB PCI card for Power Mac 9600?
Can someone recommend a combination firewire/usb card for my Power Mac 9600/350 upgraded with a Newer G3 500/250, OS 8.6?
I'm pretty sure I'll have to upgrade my OS to at least 9.04, or even 9.1
I'm using a Pro Tools Mix Plus system. Will my PCI bus be overloaded if I install a PCI firewire/usb card?

mac vet, pc novice- i need advice-
I use D.P. with a G4 and am very happy. I recently was given (dont ask) a 333mhz Gateway laptop. Now, it has always been my dream to run Digital Performer on a Powerbook with an 828 or something to do 2 track location recordings with a small road case.

Monitoring with built in iMac speakers?
We can land a man on the Moon but is it possible to monitor my playback through the speakers on my iMac? I'm using a MOTU 828 with AudioDesk on an iMac 600. Guaranteed good karma will come your way if you help me out here.
Ideally I know I should get a pair of active monitors- just not prepared to lay down that much cash just yet.

Direct Input Guitar - iMac - suggestions?
hello, I have written music for awhile in the pop/rock format and would like to finally record them all and be done with them so to speak. I was hoping there was some way to record all the guitar and bass tracks to all the songs ( around 100 songs ) through direct input and then allow my voice to get stronger over the next year or so before doing the vocals.

Mac users: Reason or Phrazer?
Hi, I'm collecting some opinions on software for loop based music... has someone tried Reason and/or Bitheadz Phrazer on a Mac with Cubase or something else? Which one do you like most?

Mac with Pro Tools Le vs. . PC with Cubase VST 32
Hi
I need to upgrade from my Yamaha MT8X to a computer based system. Right now I own a PC (IBM Compatible, Wndows) but I was told that Macs are used by the majority of recording pro's. First of all, is that true?
