Looking for a new compressor for "home" mastering-So nothing above $2k --so maybe in the price range of $600-1000...an early EMT,Altec,Urei,Orban, dbx all seem to be in that price...on the new front Buzz, Alesis CLX 440, SPL,Dramer_____ maybe wait for a used Avalon 747, Manley, Cranesong,,,probably never in that price range andworking . so whats a poor boy to do?

O.K., I kinda have the hang of mixing (at leat I understand the principles of it) and I get pretty decent mixes. But now I need to learn how do mastering, but other than making my CDs louder and having that punch that commercial CDs have, I'm not even sure what I should be really be looking for, what I should be useing, the whole thing. Is there any online tutorials I should check out?

I'm starting to see adds for a new WAVES bundle which includes the new "Linear Phase" Equalizer and "Linear Phase" Multiband Comp as well as the L2 Ultramaximizer. I've been thinking for a while about upgrading to the L2 anyway from my L1+, as well as aiming to get the Sony Oxford EQ.

Im using pro-tools 001. I have this song all done and it sounds great now i need to export it as a wave format, and i would like to export all in one track. Is that possible? What other steps could i take? I NEED HELP URGENT!

Does anyone know of any reasonably priced mastering studios in the uk.
I've just finished a track and before sending it out to club dj's i'd like to get it mastered.
Altho i appreciate some mastering studios charge a lot,i'm guessing most of there clients are from record companies that can afford this kind of budget.

I couldn't really take advantage of the 24bit mixes
(too bad there wasn't a CD24 mix for the Masterlink users)...
