From Mix to Mastering Recording into the converter
Hey guys,
Im new to the board. I am a semi experienced mix engineer. I unfortunately have to master most of my mixes. I have been getting into some new concept that I just learned about but dont know how to do it exactly.
Any input would be great.
Question About Bit Depth Before Mastering
This is just something I've noticed and wanted to ask about it as I'm about to get my tracks mastered elsewhere.

Preparing Songs for Mastering
Basically I'm paying someone to master my home recorded record but as the title suggests it's my first time getting a master done so I don't know what to ask for, request, etc. besides song spacing/how they flow into each other.

DDP Mastering Explained
Well explained but have some questions:
DDP stands for Disc Description Protocol. DDP Mastering involves the extra step of making sure all tracks flow together as a playlist and assembling the DDP file. When completed, you will receive a DDP file as well as each individually mastered track, the DDP image can then be used to create CDs.

Need some help with mastering/recording for Old 80's Demo sound
Hey :)
My name's Isi and I'm a musician and a beginner at home studio recording. Trying to keep the budget my band is recording at my place with my cheaper gear. We get the songs to sound pretty good and modern, but this is my issue:
1) We want our songs to sound more like demos, like 80's Sleaze scene. Bands like Guns N' Roses have the sound we wanna achieve.
Mastering Technique Good or Bad?
My cousin tells me he is getting great sound by doing this.
He copy's his personal stereo EQ and put it over the track, then he mixes all the tracks so when he exports it should be neutral for anyone's home EQ.
My gut tells me this is a bad idea but he tells me it is great.
I appreciate any feed back.
