-Reason as slave- General uses and methods of incorporat
So I got myself a copy of Reason and I love it, like many others seem to. Seeing that I'm pretty new to studio methods and all, I'm yet to feel that I have a prefered method that I like for making electronic music. DAW Compression Methods
When you guys track through outboard compression into a DAW, are you mostly adding a little here and there to avoid peaks, and then adding most of your compression with plugs during mixing, or are you trying to dial in most of the sound you want up front with the hardware, so to avoid needing lot's-O plug comps later on?

Best method for "Telephone Sound"?
New here, I did a search and couldn't find it so here goes, what is the best,,,,cheapest,,,,, way to create the telephone sound. I would assume it is a combination of eq and something else.
Any tips would be great,
Thanks,

Best method for mixing DAW tracks?
I'm sure this is not a new question, and I've asked it once myself over in the MOTU forum, but didn't get answers that quenched my thirst...so I'll ask it again here.
What are people's opinions about the best way to mix tracks recorded to a host-based DAW? Do you prefer to mix in software or use a console? If the latter, do you prefer a digital or an analog console?
