Drum mics/Phase
So, couple of simple questions. What are the phase problems that people constantly talk about avoiding/fixing? Will I be affected by that with 2 overheads, a snare mic and a kick mic? I'll be reamping the snare after if I can. The sound that I'm trying to get is like that off of Everything Goes Numb by Streetlight Manifesto, or Keasby Nights by Catch 22.

Good mics for live/small ensembles, recital, choir recordings?
Starting to do some recording of live performances of small ensembles (strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion) and choir recordings.
Mainly student recitals done at on campus recital halls.
I am in need of a good set of matched stereo mics

Best mics to record Bosendorfer grand piano
Hey all > I am going on location to record a very warm, intimate sound on a bosendorfer 7 foot grand. Playing style of the pianist is on the softer side. Standards etc.
If you could bring 2 mics and stereo mic the piano what would be your top pick. Also what stereo mic preamps do you love for this kind of recording/sound.

A few "newbie" questions about mics
Hello, I am new to recording in general. I have been able to figure out most things on my own after throwing hours on the problems, but I have been having some trouble recording vocals. I am using a DPO1 (because of my tight budget). As you may know if you are familiar with this recorder there are no XLR type inputs. So I have been got a cable that could go directly into my DPO1.

Inexpensive drum mics
I'm trying to get ahold of some drum mics on a $200-300-ish budget... Any recommendations? I understand that just about anything that I get is going to be pretty low end, not to great, but then again, neither is my setup, and I'm just 16... working with band from my school on a demo, and some friends need stuff recorded to send off to colleges. How is the Shure PG kit?
