Dragging mics around
Given that most people on this forum do a lot of location recording, I was wondering about mobile mic storage.

Blue Mics
where do you guys think these stand up to the Neumanns, Gefells, AKG, AT's and all the other mics that get spoken to around here. My singer recorded his old album using a Dragonfly and it sounded pretty sweet. That, also coupled with the fact that Focusrite sells that deal with the Trackmaster along with the Baby Bottle for under $800, or something?

Sputtering noise in mics
Hi all
I have a tube mic that intermittently makes a sputtering noise. I've had that before on other mics, but it was caused by condensation and easily fixed. I know a faulty tube can cause this as well.
If the above causes can be ruled out, is there another reason why this should happen?
Thanks
John Stafford

Mxl Mics; Are they any good?
been looking around for mics lately, I have made my mind up about the dynamic mics I need.
And landed on AKG D112 and some Shure sm57`s.
Now for the condensers.
Dont know how many I`m gonna get.
But the Mxl mics looks tempting and extreemly cheap, will someone wake me up and tell me the real deal about theese mics.
are any good.

the drummer set up the kit today and we tried a few Micing situations.
this is what I have :

forum dedicated to mics
I want to start a petition to start a separate section in this forum dedicated to mics. For all those out there that don't even know the difference between a condenser and a dynamic microphone. Lots of beginners come to this forum,, and if they truly want to learn the ropes, they're going to need to learn about mics sooner or later.

OH mics for recording and PA
Hi All
got a budget of $1000-$2000 CDN
Most bands will be recorded in bars and isolating the kit in most cases is a R-PITA so in one sense the tighter the pattern the better
Any and all suggestions more than welcome including isolating the kit DIY style if possible
thanks
Don

so many mics to choose from...
Alright here's the deal. As some of you know, i've recently bought an ISA 428. I've also upgraded the entire studio to mogami cables.( my wallet is hurting from the cables. ) Now i'm looking to buy a good vocal mic for Rap and also some R&B Vocals. I'm current;y using a RODE nt1000 for my main vocal mic.
