SP, MXL and Neumann mics.
Today a SP B1 mic was brought by the postman.
It came in a carton box, with a nice clip and a foam windscreen. The mic in a sealed plastic bag with a sachet of silica gel, very well done!

I won't your opinions about my mics !
Hi everybody !
I won't to know many opinions of my problem. I have a lot of dinamic and condenser mics /in my studio/, and i won't to sell two tube mics Neumann UM-57 and buy a few brand new condenser mics like RODE NT-2, may be C-414 or some other.
Do I make a mistake, or.

OH mics under $500?
Hoping for clear Hi-Mids to Hi's, being a well defined sound without sounding steely like SM81s.
Looking to use them "for the tone" while close Micing for "definition"
(I read that somewhere here, I think, and its been a helpful way to listen. Thanks.)
Im limited to about $500, maybe $600 if there is no other considerable option.
What can you suggest?

modest home studio and mics
I'm putting together a modest home "studio" for recording primarily voice and acoustic guitar. I'm thinking I'll get a Korg D1200 PDS. I'm considering two from the following: RODE NT1, Audio-Technica 3031, 3035 (are any good for either purpose? am I wasting money by not getting something better?).

Best RODE Mics for Overheads
Hello all, i'm currently looking to buy some mics for a home project type studio. The cost needs to be bear minimum as its mainly for pre-production and i can't afford anything too flash.
I was hoping to buy just enough mics to do a kit on 8 tracks (Basic PC with midiman delta1010 setup). I was hoping that I can also use these same mics for Micing guitars/bass and vocals.

I was thinking of purchasing some Oktava microphones and I was wondering if anyone has used them for applications such as drum overheads or acoustic guitars.

CAD or RODE mics?
If you have used any of the CAD studio mic range I would love to hear what you thought of them, particularly the M9 and the M179. Are they better than RODE Classic II and the NTK?
