hat is the best way to set up a session using DP and be able to create a headphone mix and a talkback device?

Do they stay together well?

thats the scenario - band was in, engineer and producer tracked the songs, did their overdubs, pack up the tape/drives - and call you in to mix the album at another house.

Is there any advantage to mix, and or process the center channel information on a seperate bus?

Well, not completely. There ARE certain proven elements to a great song. But I'm not going to go into that right now. This step is about the listener. If the listener hates the song, the mix is irelevant. A mix can only bring a song to its fullest potential.

I'm using Nuendo on WinMe. When I put a chnnel into ready record and the channel switches to input the cuemix fader and pan move around by themselves which means I cant use direct monitoring.
Anyone else had this problem & how is it fixed.

I was wondering when people who use mix compression patch it in. I've tried early and later, but haven't determined a method. I don't often use mix compression; I had some bad experiences, with cheap gear, and tended to leave it for mastering. Now that I have nicer units available, I'm going to try again.

Step 2: If the song sucks, the mix is irelevant.

Now, a song being great or lousy has a certain amount of subjectivity to it. OK allot of subjectivity. In fact, who the hell knows why one person thinks a song is the greatest ever, and another thinks it's the worst ever.

If you have given up using the Steinberg DeClicker plugin I have finally found the fix!

1.) close PT. then remove the DeClicker plugin located in the systems folder in DAE folder and put it into the plugins(unused) for now

2.) boot up PT to set a new cache

3.) close PT

4.) put the DeClicker plugin back into the DAE plugin folder
