recently i have installed my PreSonus firestudio, and also installed a art pro channel mic preamp amp to the PreSonus.
i use the headphone input (on the PreSonus) to record my stuff.
I can hear sound coming from both sides, and the signal commin into the Cubase monitors shows that it is also commin from both sides.

I am attempting to record some low budget demos (for myself and friends), and have a few questions regarding latency and monitoring. I am planning on buying the EMU 0404 USB audio interface and some Shure SM57's to connect to a laptop.

can anyone tell if there is a way in pro tools le that i can recording my input signal WITHOUT monitoring it at all. Basically what I am trying to do is lay down some vocal tracks with the headphones at a low volume and just monitor my true voice that I'm hearing outside the cans. hope that makes sense. .any help would be great, thanks!

I'm looking to buy a second set of monitors beside my 1031A's and was thinking about one of these Yamaha's because they're cheap.
I have not yet compared these in the store, but reviews on both of them are surprisingly positive. What are the differences? And why are the MSP5's more expensive? Thanks.

Ok, I have, in the past, worked with my DAW and Interfaces volume controls to control my monitoring system's volume. After reading John Scrips post in another post, I have seen that this is much, much less convenient than having something like the Avocet to control volume.

Does anybody have any experience with either or better still both?

Also, are there any other options in this price range that may be better?

I finally got a computer set up for my Phonic 18 channel firewire mixer. Any suggestions on how to wire it up especially for monitoring? Do I use the sound card on the computer or monitor through the board somehow? I'm a virgin at this so please be gentle!

Hi everyone, my speakers (terrible pieces of junk computer speakers) are dying and becoming very unsuitable for listening to my mixes. I want my next big purchase to be a decent pair of monitors.

So I'll look up past threads for some budget monitors, but can you all post what you have just so I have more things to reference? Doesn't matter how much they cost.
