sonic diff. between b&w 802 series 3 and the current

I am wondering what are the diff. between them. I know they look different but sonically, do they sound similar? Micheal, I think you are using a pair of 802, is that correct? Please let me know what's your opinion of the 802.

I just found a pair of 802 series 3 in a great condition. Looking into buying. The guy is asking for about US$1,800.

Nearfield monitors and EQ question

Hi all,
Advice please,
When I am listening to my mix thru my Yamaha MSP5s and I have a good sounding mix, I find that when I switch to any HI FI equipment thru their speakers it always sound to bassy or clonky espesialy in and around the 125hz, I have to cut the 125hz quite a bit to make it sound reasonable.

Headphone or Speaker Monitors?

I currently have a (very humble) home studio with a few synths, and i was thinking the next addition i should make.. Monitors seem to be one of the top things i want.. I would prefer headphone monitors only because i would be able to do more production at times when people don't want to be disturbed. This isn't a huge preference though, only little (hehe)..

What Power Amp for new monitors?

I just purchased a pair of Paradigm Mini Monitors on eBay to be used as my main nearfields for mixing and tracking. I have been looking for some new nearfields and after comparing these to my "really" cheap JBL's they were the way to go. Now I will be able to hear the bass content of my mixes, not just hope that it's there.

Yamaha NS 10 vs

Hi everyone,

I'm in the market for some good nearfield monitors and I just wanted to get some opinions on some good monitors in the $300 range. Tho I could possibly go more if they're really good. :)

Right now I'm looking at the Yorkville YSM-1i monitors ($240) and I've heard these are very good, but I'm also open to other suggestions if you guys know of any better ones.
