MP3 encoding

Hi,

I have both Windows XP and Windows Vista, WMP 10 and 11.

I'm looking for some kind of Windows Media Plugin, codec pack, or software that I can purchase that will install an ACM (Audio Compression Manager) compatible MP3 encoder, allowing programs to encode MP3s using ACM functionality.

Mixing music for MP3

I was speaking to an engineer who briefly was talking about how much of a pain it is to mix for mp3, I didn't get a chance to further ask him about it, but it seems interesting enough, or at least to mix for streaming music (ie. Myspace, download.com etc).

Anyone delve into this relatively new art of mixing for the streaming mp3 format?

Sell Tampa, DMP3 & VTB1 to buy Blue Robbie?

Hi. I've just seen the Blue Robbie preamp on ebay for $599. Would this preamp be worth me selling my Tampa, DMP3 and VTB1? Is the Blue Robbie gonna be much better than what I already have?
Would I be putting all my eggs in one basket and be better off keeping what I already have for different flavours and versatility?

Thanks

how to edit an MP3 file and save it without re-econding it?

Hello. how can i edit a MP3 file (i use Sound Forge) without re-encoding it, but remaining in the MP3 format? This is a problem as when encoded, a few bits of silence appear at the beginning and at the end of the file, so that it cannot be looped. when i cut this silence out and try to re-save the file, then SF re-encode it and adds again the silence and so on... neverending story.

Yahama GO46 vs. . M-Audio DMP3 ?

Hi. Hope someone can help me.
I have to record a harpsichord and a cello with a very low budget. I would like to replace two very cheap Behringer MIC200 with a M-Audio DMP3 or a Yahama GO46 (for Eur. 200) (I already own an ESI U24 soundcard which is not bad in my opinion). Have someone tried the GO46? I can't find any spec on the web but seems interesting.
