I just took a bunch of mp3 files, passed them through a freeware mp3-to-wav converter and burned them to CD, hoping to be able to play them on a CD player.

I used a Maxell CD-R music 80min/700mb. The default setting for transfer rate was "maximum" and that's how I left it.

Is there anyone kind who can tell me that I normalized one of my songs but still it's low in volume and if I make it more higher in volume it sounds freaky. Can anyone let me know how to deal with this issue?

I want to be able to take my song(s), turn them into an MP3 file and upload them to an internet site.

I need to find a site to get the software(don't even know if it's a freebee) and then some info on how it all works.

Does anybody know why this could be occuring, or what I can do to prevent it.

Hi, I was looking at posting some home demos on this site, but they are all in wav format. Is anybody aware of some good free wav to mp3 converter on the net?

I own a RODE NTK mic, and am not that happy with the sound. It's brittle, and not very focused.

I would love to get a better mic, but the budget is a little restrictive. So instead, I ordered a replacement tube for the mic, in the hope that I could improve the sound.

The tube I chose was a NOS Philips E88CC/6922 SQ from Holland.

I've notice that when I take a commercial CD and put it into my computer it comes up as an mp3 on windows media.now does windows media change the song into mp3 or does the engineer make it an mp3 before its released?

i have always had some problem with my pc where i can only encode to Ogg Vorbis using any program.
i record of the radio using the line in port on my sound card with a program called Audacity. I then try to encode into MP3 and i get 1sec files and can't fix it. So i just encoded to Ogg Vorbis and left it at that.
