title : the impact of new media technologies on music production or for musicians
Hey there,
Here is the situation: My friend's band has put together a demo video of clips of them playing various songs which they did not write but each clip is under 30 seconds. Would rolayties have to be paid to put this video on their website? I'm thinking yes, but am not sure.
Thanks for your input,
-Joel
I am 15 years old and have been around musica my whole life, from singing in church choir when I was 5 to playing guitar and piano now. I know that I want to make money off of music when I grow up and recording sounds like a great job where you can be around all kinds of music and new bands. The problem is, I have no idea what to do. I'm getting into mastering and wanted some opinions on different AD/DA converters. I'm sure this has been discussed before but I wanted to know which converter fits a certain style of music if any. Hi Everyone, I hope this is not one of these "oh god where do I even start" questions, but I thought I'd ask. It is one of many that I have. but for now the most pressing.

Recently had the privilege of recording on site a string quartet comprised of the primaries from the Midland Symphony plus a few guests...Each of the two pieces lasted 30-35 minutes, with wildy varying movements within the pieces.
Hallo,
next week I will track a string quartet for a pop recording. So far I'm planning to use a Schoeps ORTF System for the overall ensemble sound and some room information as well as close Micing each player individually with a Schoeps cardiotic mic.
Since I'm more used to classical recording techniques I have the following questions:
