Opera recording in a church - interesting job

Member for

I thought I'd share a little job I'm doing. Female opera singer needed some tracks recording for promotion. Hungarian singer, living in the UK with her pianist in Boston USA. A track recorded on an iPad in the US that works the wrong way around. For those not having bumped into classical recording, the singers work hard with their pianist, putting in tempo changes, small pauses and in this kind of music, the actual singing gets broken up with the pianist linking the verses together.

Recording an Opera demo track

Hi everyone. I'm trying to help out my wife, she's an opera singer. I simply HATE her demo recordings to send to apply for an audition. The Piano is ALWAYS super loud, and she sounds far away. This is a woman who can over power a full orchestra no problem. I've never been at her recordings, but supposedly the little mic has been between her and the piano. That is what it sounds like to me.

I bought the CAD GXL2200, and the blue icicle to try and get a better sound, the other mic was always a portable recorder deal, and we didn't own it.

What would be your method of incoperating an ssl e series w/ daw?

hey all. there's a good possibility the studio i work at is going to be getting an ssl e-series, a 2" tape machine, and a 1/4" mastering deck. I've been mulling over some different ways of incorporating these into our daw system (digital performer/apogee/motu).

i would prefer to not have to recall tons of settings every time a client wants something up or down a little bit, it's time consuming, and financially impractical for most clients.

Webmaster: Can't open Recording.org page with Opera

Hi guys,

It's been a while since I've been on here simply because my browser, Opera, does not work with recording.org. No matter what ISP I use it keeps sending me either back to my own IP address or the IP address of the router.

It really is a pain to keep having to open Chrome to check out the forum since all of my quick launch links are based in Opera. I know it sounds lazy, but it really deters me.

Is there no way around this?

Please help!

Cheers :)

New opera at Sydney Opera House with 3D sound

Hello everyone! Great news! IOSONO 3D sound teamed up with Sydney Opera House to present a new version of the opera "Die tote Stadt" by Korngold.
Next to our focus on cinema sound we thought it might be interesting how it sounds when an orchestra sound can be heard in state-of-the-art 3D sound technology.

Tried to post this in the Open Mic Guest forum so, mods, please delete the duplicate if so needed.

I know this probably isn't the right forum for this, BUT...

When I try to load this site I get a strange IP address:

http://41.177.*.***

I also get the old, "Could not connect to remote server" error message.

Is there no way Mr. Webmaster can fix this so those of us who use Opera don't have to jump between browsers?

FWIW, the page loads fine in IE and Firefox.
