I'm in the process of buying and downloading plugins for Pro Tools M Powered 7.4.

I found a program that can convert VSTs to RTAS. My question is which ones are for MIDI only?

Explain if someone can.

How would i knw which ones are insturments and which are effects?

I am having what sounds like latency issues when I use my UAD 1 card and TC elctronics power core (both pci e cards running on a G5 with 4.5 gigs ram and a glyph external hard drive-- I also have a glyph internal hard drive but I want to also mix on the external hard drive) during the mixing process any ideas on how to fix this issue?

Has anyone ever used the TC Electronic Finalizer!
I am a sing/songwriter and I send out demos that I have used the Finalizer on when I had an analog studio.
Now that I have Logic 8 INSTALLED on an imac I am looking for a decent mixing/mastering plugin .

I currently have melodyne essential which came with my Pro Tools setup. I'm wanting to upgrade to something, either cre8, or plugin . Cre8 gives the option of doing many tracks at once giving the benefit of making harmonies without worrying about using the plugin on multiple tracks like you would have to with melodyne plugin .

I mean what does it do? And when to use it and why?

Weird problem. I just installed Cubase LE on my new computer, and I have changed my VST folder in plugin information.

The mastering limiter I am trying has a look ahead function. What is this function for?

I am in the process of adding plugins to my Cubase LE4. There seems to be an ocean of plugins out there ranging from free to very expensive, and one could spend a lifetime trying to learn about them all. I am confused about a few things.

1. Why are there so many companies, and is the market really big enough to sustain so many?
