Power amp for PA/Bass
I have not looked at power amps for 5-6 years. All of the usual suspects: crown, qsc, Yamaha have "new" models since I last look. I am currently looking for a power amp for my live bass rig: POD - Power Amp - Cabinet. I'm trying to go light weight. I'd like the power amp to be good for PA if I decided to rearrange things.

Yamaha ns10 power amp question
My friend got these monitors off of ebay, and apparently they hook up through speaker wire and not through quarter inch.
So does he need some type of reciever? Will a standard stereo receiver work? What exactly does he need to purchase to hook these up to his sound card?

Power amp
I just got a Samson Servo quad 4060 4 channel amp for free from a friend's uncle. I don't really know much about it other then it is 60 watts 4-8ohms for each of it's 4 channels (seems like it should be lower at 8 ohms, but that's what the manual says online...), or bridged it is 120 watts @ 8ohms x2.

Power amp for Peavey Sp2
We just got 2 peavey sp2. And for now we use my Tapco J1400 power amp. This is my bass back up amp. And it is not that loud. What amp would you suggest for these speakers.
Sp2s:
RMS 500watts
Program 1000 wats
Peak 2000
P.S. We are thinking about adding 2 subs and an amp to run them may be next year and use it to run our own shows.

Very Basic Power Amp Question
Hello Everyone.
I should know this, and probably did at one time, but...
when using passive monitors with a power amp, should I set the gain on the amp to full and adjust the input for a comfortable db level (85db or so), or should I set the console output for unity gain and adjust the power amp to the desired level?

Looking for new stereo power amp
My old POOGE-II power amp (modded Hafler DH-200) lost the right channel the other day. I haven't gotten it on the bench to determine the cause (no visible kablamo's) but, if the Hitachi power mosfets puked, I'm probably SOL.
What's a good quality, neutral-sounding, 200 WPC amp these days? I can't put multi-K$ into this, either (got a kid starting college next month...)
