Mackie Control Problem

I have the Mackie Control interface and I'm using it with Pro Tools 6.4. When I open my first track, the mixer dialogue reads everything correctly, but the dialogue won't update for any other sessions and tracks after that. Randomly, it might update but not because of anything I do (except restart and power cycle).

Problems with AKG D880 mic?

Hi, new to this forum. I have a AKG D880 Emotion mic, which I bought about 4 years ago. Recently, I've noticed a lot of mid-freq's in the recording, like the mic is completely missing its warmth that it used to have. I have the completely same setup as I did before, except Cool Edit Pro 2.0 instead of 1.1., and I can clearly tell the difference while listening to older records.

I will be using an 1820m for a recording in the very near future and just stumbled on the fact that only the first two inputs have pre's built in... submixing a drumkit is not my personal idea of fun, so would it be ok to only use pre's for two of the mics? I'll be using four mics, two of which used for OH's, so I'm guessing that the snare and kick are the lucky winners in the Pre lottery...
