How to get audiophile sound quality with durability?

For a long time I used a pair of Pro Energy 22 speakers in my studio because the sound quality was neutral but outstanding. Well, all it took was one instance of mic feedback to blow out the tweeters. Which has me thinking now. . .how to I get studio monitors that are durable but also have the sound quality of a fine home audio speaker? Does such a thing exist?

Pushing Digi 003 to HD quality

As I don't have the budget to invest in a Pro Tools HD setup, but still would like my sessions to be easily compatible with HD-equipped pro-studios, I am planning to do something else. Since the tracks counts, midi possibilities, and the resolution (up to 96khz) of Pro Tools LE have gone up I am seriously considering buying a 003 Rack + Factory and pimping it up.
