sound quality home recording

hello to everyone I am a local baltimore artist interested in improving the sound quality of my music. I have a closet studio. I am most interested in knowing how to get the hissing or the air out of my voice recording. I use a sterling audio mic I think its a phantom series. I dont have any studio monitors just basic I guess computer stereos and I dont know anything about amps.

Quality cables

i am establishing a home studio setup following are the equipment setup but what is left is the right and good quality cables for connecting mics to the DAW or monitors to the DAW. what i mean by right leads is that i know that there are xlr's and mono and stereo jack cables but which one go best with my system i want to make sure so please suggest me.

Need better sound quality for piano recording

Hi, I'm trying to record myself playing the piano, but all I have is a Nikon Coolpix Camera, with 8-bit 7***hz mono sound. If you want to see what I did until now, check out DrAsik100 on Youtube, that's me.

I'm not too difficult on sound quality, but if at least I could record in 16-bit and get a 14khz range it would be a lot better already.

Would a pre-amp help my sound quality get better?

Right now I have a Behringer XENYX 802 mixer and an AKG Perception 100 large diaphragm condenser microphone and it's goin through my computer. I was wondering if I bought a preamp if it would boost my sound quality up any? I have good quality now BUT I was recording in a studio that was top notch equip.

Sound quality of 1100 kbps WMA lossless vs 24/192 PCM ?

Forums

Hi to everyone,

I would appreciate your opinions in the issue of that high rate lossless wma sound. Is that comparable to a normal 24/192 pcm Wav?

Asking this only for curiosity. I am not familiar with that wma, but I am a little bit suspicios against the claims I happened to hear that they should be comparable.

Want to build hi quality, super performing Nuendo/Cubase sys

Am lost in the sea of choice and progress in building a new system for my mid-size commercial studio.

Have been offered a HD3 system for $8000k and bought a 192 converter for $2200... but now I'm not so sure I want to use Pro Tools - I'm a Nuendo/Cubase SX guy. the thoughts of going to Pro Tools depresses me on a software basis.
