Hi there. I’ve been reading/lurking in the forum for the past year or so, and have learned a TON over that time. Thanks to everyone for all the info.
I play guitar and sing, mostly as a hobby, but I do make a bit of money performing and streaming music online. I’ve bought some entry level gear over the past 2 years, and have also started recording using a DAW system.
I’m currently working on my 'studio' to improve soundproofing. I’m almost ready to try and make the room sound as good as possible with acoustical treatment.
The room is a very unusual shape, and is far from an ideal room. (the room is not symmetrical, angled corners, etc etc etc.)
It'll never be a million dollar studio, but just looking for any tips on how to make it as good as possible.
Ceiling height is 7’8”, other dimensions are in drawings below.
Questions, areas of wonder/concern.:
a) Bass Traps – since 3 corners have doors, and two are at an angle… what would be some ways to install bass traps.
b) As the room is very ‘unorthodoxed’, is there anything out of the ordinary I should consider when treating the room?
*** the recording/mixing room is just the biggest room. The smaller rooms are storage and where the hotwater tank, electrical panels are.

The ceiling and wall junction is a corner as well.
Corner traps or superchunk traps, either one, will help a room, no matter where they are located in a room.
After you get a frequency sweep of the room without treatment, you might want to put those in first and see what is left to deal with.
You might also benefit from a cloud over the mix position.
I would encourage you to pop down to the studio construction forum and get the word from the regulars down there.
