Ok so I'd like to think that I can bust a gut or two on a drum kit, but I am a total newb at this recording stuff.

I just bought the scarlett 2i2 and plugged it in for the first time last night. Im not sure how i feel about it so far but i am still trying to figure out if the quad capture is worth the extra money.

I am replacing my PCI audio card, an Echo MiaMIDI (great card when it worked but drivers had constant conflicts)

Currently looking to upgrade my speaker system (quite rubbish atm), which I use for playing synths, mixing and listening to audio on my PC, and am looking to either buy a pair of Rokit 5's or a Roland CM 110's cube system. The 110's seem a better bang for my buck, but I can't seem to find any reviews or discussion on them.

When I saw this video I had to share it with a co-worker who happens to be a very accomplished drummer. This has to be the best designed Virtual Drum Kit I have ever heard. I need to record piano recitals with 3 or 4 Audio Techinca mics. I use MOTU 896HD with Macbook Pro and Logic Pro, but it isn't really a "portable" solution. So I wonder if Tascam DR680 or ROLAND R44 could be a good solution. In your opinion MOTU's preamps (and generally the recording quality) are better then DR680 and R44, or not? Quality is similar or not?

I finished writing an article about Universal Audio's UAD Roland Dimension D chorus plugin . This one is quite straightforward to research and write about but is absolutely one of my favourite effects and is one of the few plugins that I use on every single session. I like to put it on the reverb and delay sends for some extra-lush sound.

Is it normal for the factory sounds to play all the way through? What I mean by that is that I'll press the "B" bank pad #1 and it starts playing this song part. I always remember that you could just press the pad a second time and then it would stop playing. Not the case right now.

I have a DAW system with a MIDI keyboard for musical input. It also has a hardware synth ("ROMpler") module in the chain. The keyboard is a Roland A90EX, and the synth is a Roland JV-2080.
