Home studio advice needed.
Hello,
I want to start a small home recording studio to record interviews and discussions with 3 -4 people. No music will be recorded, just speech.

i just got studio monitors and everything is working fine through pro tools but i was wondering if there was a way to use the mbox so that itunes would playback through the monitors.

i'm loooking for a pair of studio monitor for my home studio!

i've heard the Genelec 1029A ... wow...i like it so much...but finally it's sold out...and no re-produce ...

alright I'm pretty new to this recording stuff but... This summer I'm setting a little home studio-esque type thing and I need some input on what to get.
First of all I plan on getting pro tools (the edition you can get at guitar center or musiciansfriend) I'd rather not get Cubase since I've used it before, and I've only seen professional studios use pro tools.
:!: Here's an interesting one for you. Opinions welcomed but please be polite. For some 5 years now I've held the belief that for the purchase of studio "monitors ' in the price range of around $1,000 - $2,000 you'll be waisting your money.
Aaaaaaaaaaalllright! I must warn you this is kind of a broad question and I will try to be concise, but I will most likely ramble*starting already*
Ok, my "studio" is a mix of high quality(Sebatron Thorax, Diezel, good mics) and low quality (US-428 audio interface) with Cubase VST 3.0.
just out of curiosity..will it hurt my equiptment if I leave it running all day - mainly just my powerMac, digi002 and my krk powered speakers? I spend most of my freetime in the studio but was curious if it would be hazardous to leave on while i am running errands during the day or out for a few hours at a time? thanks for your input
BM6 passive speakers and [1] Hafler P4000 Studio Amplifer. This equipment was used in an Avid Symphony Suite. Absolutely perfect condition. Speakers have wall mounts. New, the speakers were $1800 and the amp was $675
Dude is selling it for $1000 even.
Good deal? Im looking for good speakers and was shopping between BM6a's and Event 2020s.
Hi
I believe my weak links in the chain are my monitors and my converters.
my chain of equipment is as follows:
TLM 103 Neumann cardiod mike, SE Electronics Z3300a omni/cardiod/figure of 8; RODE NT2.
Great River ME1NV preamp
Alesis speakers (the weak link!)
Allright, I want to get my own home studio for myself and bands that I play in. I need it to be something under $800, and if you could, around $700ish. I don't want something uber-professional, but something that isn't going to sound like complete crap. I have a good understanding of audio, mixing, digital recording and what not.
