Sample Rate Conversion
What mastering engineers are making masters from a 24 bit premaster that was created on the Masterlink?
But, when you receive the 24 bit premaster on disc you're not going from the MAsterlink to a DAW. You're coming out of your Masterlink into external outboard everything.
You're using outboard Sample Rate Conversion, etc.

Is recording at higher sample rates worth it?
I have a 24/96khz ad/da and maintain audio at 32 bits internally for processing and mixing prior to dithering back to 16 bits for burning to CD.
Votes are being cast on the GM forum for a sample rate s
If anyone is interested, I posted a question on the George Massenburg forum:
"Do we want to standardize on a maximum sample rate?"
There are 22 votes so far. Please go over there and make a comment if you wish.

Sample Rate conversion
I've been using Logic for sometime now. However, I've not really attempted to put anything on to a CD yet.

Sample rates and latency in HD
I've gleaned from Greg and Nika that if the Digi interfaces are really top notch the sample rates for getting audio into PT should not make any difference.
As running sessions at 96kHz is best
for the plugin quality, it makes sense to record at 96kHz then, even though the audio sampled should sound the same at 48kHz - it saves upsampling.
