Sample rate
I know pro tools LE is 24 bit/ 96kHz.
I was thinking of switching to Logic that can record at 24 bit/192kHz.
Does it make that big of a difference?
Help me out please.

Logic 5.5 on P.C. - new SATA drive sample rate problem :-S
Hi,
I've been running Logic 5.5 quite happily now for over 2 years, since starting work in a studio and wanting to be compatible with everone else without buying a Mac.
Always wanting to make my audio machine faster and better, I recently bought a 150GB Western Digital Raptor, 10k rpm SATA drive. ("the fastest non-SCSI drive available")
How do i find out the right sample rate to record in ?
sometimes ill pic the highest rate and when i hear it back on my windows media player its all slow? my interface is a Tascam FW1804 and i run it with Nuendo.
thanks!
and what format is the best format?
ThANKS!

audible difference in sample rates (96k - 192k)
hi, i've been reading through threads that debate the difference in recording different sample rates and i have a question. i'm a beginner, so i might be in over my head, so forgive me if this is a dumb question (i know, no dumb questions just dump people ).
What Sample Rate/Bit Depth do you guys record with?
Sorry if this has been discussed.
Just curious. What bit depth/SR and why?I just Read the interview in TapeOp (Marc Aubort, nice article!) and it got me thinking..He still records at 16 bit. Ethan Winer does too, if I recall correctly.
can u open 88.2khz sample rate project with mbox?
i tried opening a session i did at the studio, and i wasn't aware that they recorded at 88.2. is there any trick or way i can open this session on my mbox? obvioiusly if not, i'll have to go back and get the tracks consolidated etc... booo

Converting 16-bit to 24-bit
hello
I have some older sessions in 16-bit 44.1 kHz. i am going to re-track the vocals for the sessions using newer equipment which is capable of 24-bit up to 96 kHz.
Is there any benefit to converting the 16-bit audio into 24-bit and work in a new 24-bit session (44.1) for recording vocals?
or should i leave it in 16-bit, and record the vocals at 16-bit depth?
