Sennheiser MKH-416 vs. Audio-Technica AT4071A
I'm a small indie film director, directing/producing my own film. I currently have an Audio-Technica AT4071A because I got a great deal on it a while back. But for my next film I'm upgrading to a two mic setup. And I'm considering getting either another Audio-Technica or Sennheiser MKH-416, MKH-60, or MKH-70.

Sennheiser MD 421 questions
I have these mics on my mind as tom mics because I'm going to record a funk drummer in the near future and we're probably going to go for a more modern sound than my usual style.

Why use the Sennheiser 614 for V/O?
I've noticed that the Sennheiser 614 is apparently one of the superstar microphones for V/O work these days. When I was a full time V/O guy the U87, 414, RE20 or 421 were the king of the booth.

Sennheiser 416 just died
Hello -- I'm new to the forums and my Sennheiser MKH416T just died.
It's been in a cabinet for over a year, hardly used at all (it's about 5 years old, I bought it used and tested it when I bought it from a Hollywood Sound guy -- worked fine then).

Sennheiser HD 280 Pro?
I just purchased some Sennheiser HD 280 Pro headphones and gave them a listen...and they're pretty great! But, maybe, and this might be an opinion as opposed to an observation, but they might be just a touch flat? Maybe I'm imaging things, and I am pretty tired...just wanted your thoughts on these 'phones and any others that are great for monitoring in roughly the same price range!

Monitor speaker for grand piano, similar sound to HD-650s?
Can anyone recommend an active monitor with sound characteristics similar to the Sennheiser HD-650s? I like the 650's liquid mids, relaxed highs, and strong but not bloated bass.
I work exclusively with solo classical piano material and my room is 12x16.
Sennheiser MD221U?
I've recently been offered a pair of these for $300.
I have been unable to find any info on them online (including Sennheiser's site).
They do come from a reputable source, but I gotta have something else to go on.
Anyone heard of these things?
*Any* help would be greatly appreciated!

Sennheiser e901 boundary mic
Hello all,
I recently picked up a Sennheiser e901 mic (I believe classified as a boundary mic). I went to test it out to make sure it wasn't DOA, and at first I thought maybe it was! I couldn't hear anything back through the main speakers as I tapped on the screen. Phantom was on, too. I also attempted to talk through it and still heard nothing.
