Incorporating samples into your sequencer

This is where the fun begins. I've always liked a good challenge. Getting the BPM's right, editing & locking samples into your project, then programming a def beat on your drum machine or sound module that'll give it that drive. Does anybody have any special techniques that they reley on or work with that they don't mind sharing with the rest of us that are "novices" ? :w:

Sequencers

I would like to play my drums to a sequencer. I want to download songs from the internet and load them into the sequencer. I plan on buying something like a Proteus for a sound source. As far as the sequencer is concerned, do I need a computer and what software is good? Or is there a stand-alone unit that would work. I would prefer a stand-alone unit if it makes sense.

Recording with a sequencer

Hi, this is my first post. I'll get to the point. I'm involved in a recording project, it's just me, my guitar and my sequencer (hardware; Yamaha RM1X) and was wondering how should i record the sequencer, I am currently limited to four mono track and two stereo tracks. I have a fostex Vr800 (recorder, with midi in, out) and a fostex vm88 (mixer, with nothing extremely special).

Connecting Sequencer with HDR 24/96

I had posted an earlier email regarding connectivity from my Roland XP-60 Sequencer to HDR 24/96. I finally got it connected and was successful in laying down my tracks.

The only problem that I had discovered, that once I did my initial tracks such as Drums, Bass and Piano it recorded fine because it was the initial tracks.
