Recording Small Jazz Groups
Hi. I'm absolutely going nuts trying to decide on the next set of items to enhance my simple home studio for recording solo piano, piano trios and so on. I do mostly acoustic jazz and live group recording.
Current environment:
A lovely Steinway baby grand :)
A big room with high ceilings

A few tips for a "Small Room" Digital Home Studio.
Most of my friends who have Home Studio's have their garage converted into something very nice and costly that looks like a Star Wars space ship with lights off their racks glowing in the room with a computer that could probably run a space ship. I don't have that pleasure or that kinda cash . But each year I record at least 4 CD's and I have yet to hear 1 finished song from them.

FX processing pedal, Small watt guitar amps, both?
I want to add powerful guitar tools to my studio.
Considering a processing pedal Boss's GT-8 or Vox's AC30 series combo amps. Or both.

Recording small jazz combo.
Hey, I'm recording a small jazz combo in an untreated garageish room and don't really know how I should mic them. The first and so far only thing I tried was using one condensor as a room mic, which by itself got an ok sound. I placed it in the middle of the room by the sax player, the bass amp and drummer where in the corner of the room (pretty big garage).

my 2 channel mixer is too small HELP!
I have a 2 channel Stanton SK SIX battle mixer. The problem is, it only lets me hook up 2 CD players and 2 turntables. The thing is I want to hook my PC sound card to it so I can listen music from my PC to my mixer and also be able to go from the mixer to the PC sound card to record my mixes.

small diaphragm condenser recommendations
My studio is looking to add a pair of small diaphragm condensers to our "closet". Probably the two biggest uses they will have will be as overhead/room mics or for acoustic guitar/instruments. But they should as versatile as possible.
