Mic Stands - Small footprint for a heavy mic?
I have been putting my RODE K2 on a [url=link removed A50[/url]. I noticed on another thread someone calling the K2 a "boat anchor" and I quite agree. The A50 does a great job keeping the K2 nice and stable, but it takes up a lot of real estate in my small studio. Does anyone have a suggestion for a stand with a smaller footprint that's still pretty stable.
One small step for my home recording...
Who would have guessed: my budget, upgraded Emachines crapped out on me. There's nothing like needing new gear when you're in between jobs. How I longed for a Mac, but my wallet longed for a budget Dell tower at 15% off. :? So, I got this:

Trying to make a very cheap, rather small isolation booth.
I honestly have one of the worst acoustic environments you could have in my room...10 guitars hanging on a single wall. There's a futon, curtains and such, but nothing that really reduces flutter and echo. Terribly for trying to record trumpet, loud guitar, really, anything.
A small interface for XP64/Vista64
I just upgraded my mixing/mastering DAW to a Quadcore with 8GB RAM, Nuendo and vista64 and XP64 (got connections at work 8) ) and to my frustration found out that there are only old crappy XP64 beta drivers for my delta, that don't even work (at least not in my case... nice work M-Audio! you suck! ).

Creating spacey feel in a small room..
Hey everyone,
I'm mostly a sort of bedroom studio for learning but have come across a song which I thought would be nice for me to try and replicate for a mix.

Recording a small choir in a big hall
I have a gig (almost) booked to record a good, but smallish choir in a large concert hall. It will be 25-30 adult voices - SABT. This will be my first recording in a "big-boy" venue. It is a closed session, so the hall will be essentially empty.
