orchestra drop snake
So here is the question. How many pairs do you guys normally buy/build your snakes for orchestral recordings? It is rare that I use more than 2-4 mics but I used to use the occasional spots that would bring the count up. Anyone going with a modular setup? Say for lack of a better term detachable fans or boxes with various lengths of main snake.
Thanks

Video over a Snake
Suppose this counts as budget, since I aI'm to try this in under £10.
Component video = yellow lead from yellow/red/white cables, if I got the name wrong.

snake question..
hey..
I'm about to get a new mixer with [finally] the ability to properly mic a drum kit.. only problem is, the drum booth is not very close to the control room.. [30' - 35' away]
i need to pick up a snake so that i dont have to lay down 4-7 XLR cables to mic the drums..

Snake/ long throw cable
i plan on using a 8 XLR to XLR snake for a drum kit setup i do know that there is some kind of limit to as how far the "throw/ft" can be. is there any effect on frequency or impedence. i have done some searching on the web and couldnt find any hard answers. i am at work right now i am away from my books so this is racking my brain
thanks in advance

Building my own splitter snake
I am getting into producing DVDs of live music performances.
In order to provide the best possible sound quality for my finished video, I must make a multitrack recording of the performance.
