Is there anything wrong with just having female XLR connectors on one end of the snake, and male XLR connectors on the other? Is there any particular need (like for a ground maybe?) to have a chassis for the inputs?

Last fall I did a multitrack recording of my friends band playing live. So I went to order a 100' 16-channel stage snake. Unfortunately at time of purchase I was down to the wire with time and bought the only one I could get which was the horizon 100' 16/4 stage series. Did the recording and the snake seemed to work just fine.

Who can tell me if there are some diference or if it better to use or not to use snake cable from mogami or canare instead the regular full cables? i mean, in the studio conections...any moderator? Remy?

i'm new to this and need help. is it possible to connect ur mixer to the speakers using a snake cable? and do u require DI's ?

We need twelve channels of xlr-xlr, for the microphones into the mixer, and we have five pairs of headphones that need to connect to our MOTU 192HD.

I reccently rented a splitter snake from a local music store to do some live recording of a band. For some reason, I wasn't getting any phantom power at either end of the snake (split or main trunk). Is there something special required in a splitter snake to get phantom power to the business end ?

Hi, I engineer at a church that has a 50' wide stage and I was thinking of setting up a snake with two boxes. Channels 1-32 for one half of the stage and channels 1-32 for the other half.
I figure this is possible because the studio i used to work at had multiple wallboxes with the same channels.

I am in the process of cabling my new studio (3000 sq ft in Paris, France) with mic snake cables (8 ch. preferably) and I am looking for advice.
