I wonder could somebody please offer some soundproofing advice. I have just moved home and have a podcasting set up in my 'office'. The room is about 8'x8' with not a great deal of furniture in it.

I have a desk, studio monitors, mixing desk with two mics and the computer.

We are in the process of soundproofing a room in an unfinished basement. The walls and ceiling have been insulated and we put on 2 layers of drywall with green glue inbetween. Next we plan to build a room inside this room.

Hi. I am going to build a soundproof booth because I have recently found myelf in a very noisy apartment and soundproofing is the only way to do this. Also, as i don't own the place, I can't really tear down walls or add windows to the apartment, so a booth is the only way to go.

Unfortunately, I'm in a situation where reducing the sound leakage is more important than the sonics of the room... though I'm not about to buy an ISO booth and deaden everything. The louder recording needs are for electric guitar and vocals, though I'm using low wattage amps that are often pushed a bit for break up. Will also record acoustic. No drums, no bass.

I wonder if I could get bit of advice from you. I'm thinking of soundproofing part of my homestudio where the computer and the rest of equipment are from the part where the mics are and I am thinking what would be the best solution for that. The space to use for that is very limited though.

Hey guys, I am about to start a project to build a home studio down in my basement. Just wondering if anyone else has been successful with this because I need some ideas. What is the most cost effective way to get the best performance in building a soundproof studio?

What are some of the acceptable forms of soundproofing when your not quite prepaired to track vocals or acoustic instruments in a booth? I've heard using a mattress with it standing against the wall would be ok. And using Auralex is cool but I don't have that much to spend right now. Any others? ;)
