how can I check if my headphonesspeakers are damaged?

Hello everyone,

I have recently bought a pair of Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 80 Ohm, but I noticed that the jack on the audiocard has some DC, and sometimes while keeping the volume high the sound distorted.
Then I plugged my headphones into the mixer to avoid the DC problem, but how can I know if I damaged them already even if the exposition to DC has been just for some days?

Should I mix with my crappy headphones, or crappy speakers?

Well, I don't think my speakers are "crappy" really, but I don't think they're meant for audio recording either.

Headphones: Cheap wraparound the head ones that were popular about 6 years ago.

Speakers: Logitech z4, cost me about $70. Sound great for movies!

Don't really have the money OR the space for something else right now

Adding speakers

Howdy!
This may sound elementary, but how do I connect (2) additional speakers to my existing (2) computer speakers.
My speaker system is a (3) speaker system, 2 speakers and a woofer.
I just want more listening quality.

Acctually now that I think about it, Do I want a "Surround sytem" ?

Thanks in advance,
Walt

Speaker Wiring

Hi all.
For reasons I'll leave out, 2 of our speakers (the monitors for the band) are in my house among other things. Being bored and knowing that the tweeter on one wasn't working, I opened it up to look. Lo and behold, the tweeter works (probably) but there's a loose wire.

The speaker is a Wharfedale Pro PT-12, the woofer is branded D-003.
