Speaker / Amp matchup question
Hey guys, maybe you can help. I've bought a crown XTI4000. I want to buy 2 main cabinets for it. The amp gives me 1200W/chan at 4 ohms. I'm looking at getting the Yamaha S215V's, which are 1000W at continuous, and 2000w peak. Question I have, as I'm very newe to this, am I gonna be distorting too much because of a lack of headroom? Or do you guys think I'll be okay?

Power Amp Suggestion for 8 Ceiling Speakers
I'm helping out a meditation center and we don't have much budget.
We got 4 pair of Proficient C620 6.5 Inch Ceiling Speakers (total of 8 speakers) for a very large room.

P.A. speaker set-up
Hello! I was wondering if I could get some advice on the best placement for P.A. speakers in a club that holds roughly 150 people. The 'stage' is set to the corner, facing the audience roughly at a 45 degree angle. I am using four berringer 300 watt P.A.'s driven by a phonic powerpod 1060. I actually have two of these, but for the size of the room I believed that would be over-kill.

Speakers and a hard disk recorder
Yeah I have the TonePort but I'm hearing pops and clicks so I'm thinking of sending it back. USB interrupt issues. I raised the buffer slider and it helped a little but not entirely. I was wondering though about those hard disk recorders, like the Tascam ones.

Powered mixer/speaker compatibility
Hello, first time here. My question is, I believe, a basic one. I have an old TOA MX-106 powered mixer and am looking at getting new speakers. The specs say:
Rated Power & Load: 300W RMS (2 ohms ) 200W RMS (4 ) 120W RMS (8 )
Power Requirement 600 W 120V AC 50/60Hz

How can I test the frequency response of my speakers?
Is there software or something that I can use to see what the frequency response of my speakers are? Like say I do a full spectrum sweep, I want to know what frequencies are being boosted/cut by the speakers. Is there some way to do this?
ideal speaker/driver to use as microphone for low end?
Hey all,
was just wondering what would be the best type of speaker/driver to use as a microphone to capture kick drum. Hi-fi type driver (traditionaly softer) or a firmer type, like a PA speaker and the like?
Was thinking a 10 or 12 inch, again, open to suggestions!
cheers,
