Any recommendations? Which engineer?

I'm in the process of writing a business plan to build a recording studio in Houston TX. I need Information on what the average income of a music prouction studio is nationally. Does anyone have or know where I can get this information?

I'm looking for reall word advice on project studios mics, most spasificly the tube and c4 seires of mis, but info about the quality of the mics in genral.

Has anyone heard what these mic preamps sound like?

Any feedback on the mastering done at this studio? I'm searching for a mastering house in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Just an observation here.

We have tried to get the major recording studios ( the ones governed by record labels) to add their studios to RO ( http://www.recording.org ) but have yet had one comments from any of them. The indie studios are very supportive.
