i have session tomorrow. its the first session with this band. so ill be concentrating on drum sounds.

I know a lot of you dont like to compress vocals while tracking, but still... Can anybody recommend a good compressor for tracking (mostly) vocals?

ok yea, i'm new to recording, I bought a Tascam DP-01, and I'm doing pretty good but i asked for some advice and i dont nkow what it means, i asked how to record a lot of vocals in a punkish sort of way, and i got this response:

"Everyone at once using one mic... then track it a few times we usualy do liek three tracks of gang back up's "

I seem to be having more success lately, while tracking my own vocals, in listening through monitors turned low instead of a set of cans. For some reason I'm able to get more control over the old voice(I don't claI'm to be a pro vocalist). when monitoring, I just use a minimum of instrumentation.

well its seems i won't have the money to spend buying nearfields and treating my room so i was wondering if anybody knew a good set of headphones for tracking primarily. it looks like i'll be mixing with them too. i just need something as flat and accurate as possible.

Wondering if there are any opinions on this desk. I'm looking for a realtively inexpensive 8 channel tracking console for location work that is a step above the mackie/trident etc...

I'm also considering a Midas venice 160, so if anyone has an opinion on that, it's welcome too.
