Description

The term "tracking" is a process when recording various instruments, voices etc used to create a song or production within its track. If a song is recorded one track at a time, we refer this to "tracking". Every time you record a new track, you hear all the other ones you've recorded as well. This tag discusses all sorts of topics on tracking music.

live recording vs multitracking for acoustic guitar and vocal?

Forums

Hi, I'm a singer/songwriter recording my first demo at college and I'm getting some conflicting advice. I'm only recording acoustic guitar and vocal and wondered how best to do this, live with no headphone mix, to a click track and add drums later or should I still overdub? any advice welcome and much needed, cheers, TC

Tracking into an LA-2A is amazing

Trying to get the same sound after vocals are printed doesn't compare.

What a glorious sound you get tracking into an LA-2A. It makes me wonder how the Apollo and the LA-2A plugin would stack up to the hardware. My guess is no contest to the real deal but if you have an Apollo, please chime in and let us know what you think.

Gearfest Tracking/Mixing tutorials at PureMix

PureMix has the http://www.puremix… mixing tutorials by Fab Dupont from Sweetwater's Gearfest 2011 up. They are free. Some comments.

1. As you would expect at a Sweetwater Gearfest there is a lot of focus on gear. But the sales pitch is relatively soft and I did not find it annoying.
