computer upgrade

All right I have about $5500 I want to upgrade to computer because of flexibility I have all the microhones and preamps you can shake a stick at a Sebatron 4 channel 2 4 channel sytek all burr browns and a Lexicon mpx-1 and really nice compressors can I use all this with a computer and for $5500 what kind of computer set up can I get. I need 24 channel simultaneous at 24/96.

preamp upgrade

I've been reading some of the numerous preamp discussions here and am hoping to get some more specific advice. My main mics and an AT4050 and a pair of studio project C4s. I run though a dbx 386 to an maudio omni I/O. I bought the 386 at someone's suggestion (not here) but I'm not getting the sound I'm looking for yet. To me, despite supposedly being "tube" it sounds cold and harsh.

Big Upgrade to Home Studio Mic/Pre/Compressor

Forums

Hi everyone,

I am in the process of acoustically treating my studio room and waiting for the replacement of my MOTU 896HD (long story) and my NT2000 microphone... so I see that I will have around 4000-5000 USD free soon I want to upgrade my studio (my current setup I will place at the end so you can see what components are good/bad ugly).

MPC1000 new upgrade coming or just a rumor?

Okay I heard a rumor from a sales guy, (I think it's a rumor anyway) when I was trying to decide between the MPC1000 or coughing up the extra $ for the 2000XL. He told me about 3 months ago that there would be a new OS (version 1.08 I think) coming out that would make the MPC1000 just as good, or better than the MPC2000xl (with the same features or features even better!) coming out soon.

Guitar Pro version 5.0 upgrade is a fantastic value at $29

At $29 this is probably the most valuable software upgrade I've ever seen, definitely worth checking out for all guitarists. Powertab still has it's place but Guitar Pro 5.0 is pretty robust and the new sound samples are off the hook.
