Do these USB devices in Multitrack Recording or Stereo?
Hi,
As i know, most of the USB audio interface in 2 channel input. But nowadays, there are a lot of USB audio interface or even a USB Mixer comes with more than 2 channel inputs. In this case, do it means c'ld recording in Multitrack like what Firewire Audio Interface did? or, it still a Master Stereo Channel on USB recording? Thanks for explaination with appreciation.
USB Microphone and Microphone Jack, possible to record at the same time into two dif?
The title explains it all.
Just wondering if it is possible to record with a USB Microphone and the Microphone Input jack simultaneously into one recording program as two different channels (and also one channel). The reason for the distinction is to record and be able to edit the two separately, and also have both be audible.

USB powered interfaces with (no wall warts)
I need something for remote recording where I dont have access to many power outlets. Id like something where I can do some decent recording.. USB interfaces dont have a ton of options when it comes to self powered. Something like the EMU 0404 is NOT bus powered.
Any suggestions, something that has phantom power, a decent pre, and a decent headphone amp?

Firewire 800 and USB 3.0
Okay so I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I want to know when in the heck are we going to see a refresh in interface technology that uses either Firewire 800 or USB 3.0? Both of these have much faster transfer rates than their predecessors, and most quality computers have Firewire 800 and I believe USB 3.0 is becoming more common place.

MIDI USB Problems
I need some help setting up a midi usb cable with my current setup. I have a KORG d1200 (which is acting pretty much as a phantom power for my mic), and i HAD it hooked up through its headphone jack going to my computer which is running adobe auditon 3. I decided to up my sound quality by getting a MIDI to USB cable (M-Audio).

USB audio interface equivalent to Audiophile 192?
Been using the Audiophile 192 for home recording and wanted something external so I can take it around with a laptop as well. What's a good USB audio interface that's equivalent to the Audiophile 192 PCI card? Brand doesn't necessarily matter but looking for something around the same cost range of the Audiophile 192. Thanks!

USB 2.0 Compatible Preamp
Hello, I need some help. I'm looking for a decent preamp or preamp/mixer, but it has to be USB compatible, since I happen to have the late 2008 model of MacBook that doesn't have firewire (very frustrating).

What is the difference between a firewire interface and USB?
Which one is better and why?
I am curious as to if a USB interface would be fine for what I am looking for. I just want something rock solid that does not have any audio drop outs or clicks and pops. Not looking to do tons of simultaneous tracks. Maybe 3 at once at most.
thanks for the help
Updating a Steinberg usb dongle
Hey everyone. I'm getting ready to download the Cubase 5 trial version, and to operate it I'm going to have to update my usb dongle with the newest licence. Does anyone know if I'll still be able to operate sx2 with that same dongle once it's been updated?
