I've been recording spoken word tracks with mixed but steadily improving results.

Thus far I've been using a Boss digital studio and been fairly happy with it but I think I want to switch to a usb interface.

Probably a rackmount as I'll be migrating all my gear to a set of flightcases over the next year.

I have a audiobox usb, and your not supposed to hook up an active instrument into the front instrument input, but a "line" input, but, i have a Boss multi effects pedal for my guitar, and sense it has an onboard preamp, i cant plug it into the from connections as is.. or, can i? just wondering what i need to do :)

Basically I have a dilemma of where I just got a new laptop which does not have a firewire input but rather an ExpressCard 54 slot as well as USB 2.0 (obviously). I have a Firepod which is Firewire based.

I understand that USB 2.0 and Firewire 400 are almost on the same level with each other (or at least that's what I presume), but what would be the best performace choice for an audio interface. I'm leaning towards firewire because it is more prevalent. I'm just seeking some opinons.

I'm using a M audio 410 firewire interface into a Mackie mixer, but Im heading off to college and would like to get either a firewire or usb mixer. Hey Guys, I just got a quote back on a U67 from my Local dealer and was wondering what the going street value is on these babies? I can get it for $2600.00 AU which I think equates to about $1500.00 US. Worth it or should I hunt around a bit more?
