Yamaha HS80M

I'm looking into getting some monitors and I have listened to the HS80M's and liked how my CD sounded through them at the store. They seemed to be clear and the low end was pretty good.

What does everyone like about them/why should I purchase these?

What is everyone's complaint with them/is there any reason that I should not purchase these monitors?

Thanks!

Yamaha HS80m or the Mackie HR624?

What would you pick and why, Yamaha HS80m or the Mackie HR624?

I am shopping for my first set of real monitors that I will use mostly to mix folk/rock and roll. The room that I will use to mix is a 12x16 drywalled room that I have a few thin eggcrate mattress tacked to the walls, so pretty much not really soundproofed at all.

Anyone using the new Yamaha HS80M Monitors? Opinions Please!

I may order a pair to replace my TAPCO s-5's. I want my mixes to translate better. I currently have to remix and play on various systems many, many times to dial in acceptable mix. Room treatment is not an option at this time. The mids and highs turn out ok...the bass/low end is the main problem. Hopefully the 8 inch woofer will help. I do not want to use a sub. Anyone tried the Yamahas?

new Yamaha hs80m studio reference monitors

so i went into guitar center looking for monitors. i was about to resign myself to ordering the Wharfedale 8.2's or buying the KRK Rokit 8's or the M-Audio BX8a monitors they had up there. Then i got a listen to the Yamaha hs80m speakers they had just gotten in.

Is it just me or are these things really friggin' good?
